Job Overview
Our client s hiring a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programmer & Operator for SINUMERIK 828D and GSK-based machines. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Harare. The CNC Programmer/Operator will be responsible for creating and optimizing CNC machine programs, ensuring precision and efficiency in manufacturing processes.
Duties for this role
Create, test, and optimize CNC programs for SINUMERIK 828D and GSK machines
Interpret and apply technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications
Select appropriate tools, materials, and machining strategies for each project
Set up and operate CNC machines with accuracy and efficiency
Identify and troubleshoot programming errors and machine issues
Collaborate with Engineers and Machinists to meet production targets and quality standards
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and manufacturing best practices
Qualifications & Experience
At least 3 years of practical experience as a CNC Programmer/Operator, ideally within the Engineering or Manufacturing sector
Strong proficiency in CNC programming, with advanced knowledge of G-Code and M-Code
Skilled in reading and interpreting complex technical blueprints and engineering drawings
Proven ability to set up and operate CNC machines with accuracy and efficiency
Familiarity with **CAD/CAM software** and related programming tools
Exceptional attention to detail combined with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a **team-oriented environment**
Solid understanding of machine maintenance procedures and troubleshooting techniques
Possession of a relevant technical certification, associate degree, or equivalent professional experience in CNC Programming or Machining
