Role Purpose
To lead shift-based mechanical maintenance execution across the process plant so that breakdown response, planned maintenance, work quality, and shift handover discipline support safe plant operation, equipment availability, and minimal production disruption.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate mechanical trades and support personnel on shift to execute breakdown, corrective, and routine maintenance work safely and efficiently.
Prioritise shift work based on plant condition, production risk, safety requirements, and direction from maintenance and operations leadership.
Direct field troubleshooting and repair of crushers, mills, pumps, conveyors, agitators, screens, tanks, piping, valves, and associated mechanical systems.
Ensure maintenance work is completed to standard, defects are clearly identified, and equipment is returned to service in a controlled condition.
Manage shift handovers, work progress updates, and escalation of critical defects, delays, and repeat failures.
Support shutdown and planned maintenance work when rostered or assigned.
Ensure maintenance records, job feedback, parts usage, and shift logs are captured accurately.
Support installation and commissioning work for plant upgrades during assigned shifts.
Reinforce maintenance standards, work discipline, and safe execution practices needed as the plant grows and becomes more complex.
Required Experience
Diploma, Degree, or Trade background in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Maintenance.
Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical maintenance within mining, processing, or heavy industry.
At least 2 years in a shift-leading, supervisory, or acting supervisory role is preferred.
