Job Purpose
The Drilling Supervisor is responsible for overseeing drilling operations, ensuring safety compliance, optimizing productivity, and delivering exploration and production drilling programs within budget and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily drilling operations, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules.
Lead and manage drill crews, providing guidance, training, and performance monitoring.
Identify downhole conditions and implement appropriate drilling methods.
Ensure correct bit selection, drilling fluids usage, and application of drilling techniques.
Monitor rig performance and oversee basic rig maintenance.
Prepare and maintain accurate drilling reports, production logs, and cost tracking.
Coordinate with geologists, engineers, and site managers to achieve project objectives.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Manage logistics, consumables, and spare parts planning for drilling operations.
Troubleshoot operational challenges and provide prompt solutions.
Conduct risk assessments and enforce safety protocols on site.
Liaise with clients and management, providing regular updates on progress.
Requirements
Minimum 10 years’ hands-on drilling experience and 5 years as a Drilling Supervisor.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Sound knowledge of drilling equipment, rig operations, and maintenance.
Ability to work independently in remote exploration drilling programs.
Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Valid driver’s license and medical fitness certificate.
